Below are some top WWE NXT news stories of the day.
• The October 1 episode of WWE NXT debuted on the CW Network, but fans noticed some censorship during the broadcast. The show, which took place at the Allstate Arena in Chicago, featured key moments such as Cora Jade’s return and Trick Williams winning the NXT Championship. However, during a “Holy sh*t” chant from the crowd, the CW Network censored the audio.
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, the censorship decision was made by The CW due to the network’s stricter content regulations as a broadcast channel.
WWE has faced similar censorship issues on Fox during Friday Night SmackDown, where crowd chants and wrestlers’ curse words were frequently silenced.
With NXT maintaining its TV-PG rating, such censorship isn’t surprising, but it remains to be seen how NXT will adapt to this new era on the CW Network.
