Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, involving Dakota Kai and Tonga Loa.
• On last night’s episode of RAW, Shayna Baszler & Zoey Stark defeated Damage CTRL (Dakota Kai & Kairi Sane), Ivy Nile & Maxxine Dupri and Katana Chance & Kayden Carter in a Fatal 4-Way Match to become the No. 1 Contenders for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.
Shayna & Zoey will now face Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill for the Women’s Tag Team Titles at a future date.
Fan signs for Dakota Kai were confiscated on RAW, which led to Dakota tweeting the following:
“I do see all the signs and I’m so grateful, I’m sorry they get confiscated but just do it more haha. F it we ball”
• Tonga Loa (fka Camacho in NXT) will have the first match of his second (current) WWE run on this Friday’s SmackDown.
He will team up with Solo Sikoa to take on The Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins). Two weeks ago on SmackDown, Tama Tonga defeated Dawkins to advance in the King of the Ring tournament. Solo and Loa attacked Ford on the outside during this match, Solo delivered the Samoan Spike to Dawkins after the match.
WWE messed up the graphic for this announcement, as they used Tama Tonga instead of Tonga Loa:
Below is the updated card for SmackDown, which will take place in Saudi Arabia:
– Randy Orton vs. Tama Tonga in the Semi-Finals of the King of the Ring tournament
– WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Bianca Belair vs. Nia Jax in the Semi-Finals of the Queen of the Ring tournament
– The Bloodline (Solo Sikoa & Tonga Loa) vs. The Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins)
– WWE Women’s Champion Bayley vs. Chelsea Green
– AJ Styles will meet SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis to find out what’s next for him after his recent losses
