This past Saturday’s episode of AEW Collision, which was taped in Calgary, Alberta, Canada after Wednesday’s Dynamite, saw a concerning incident involving Dalton Castle.

During his match with Roderick Strong, Castle was knocked out after Strong’s jumping knee strike to the jaw. Castle collapsed to the mat, prompting several camera cuts while the referee counted the pinfall.

With this win, Strong earned the right to challenge Mark Briscoe for the ROH World Championship at Death Before Dishonor.

Here’s what the Wrestling Observer reported about it:

“He got knocked out. The referee counts 1-2, held up the count because it wasn’t supposed to be the pin, then counted the 3 because Dalton Castle never moved. They didn’t show Dalton Castle. He was on the ground for several minutes, so they didn’t show any of that.

You could see the edit, but the edit was the referee held up the count. Dalton didn’t kick out, and then the referee had to count the three because Dalton wasn’t getting up.

In the building, this was a complete mess, and they were very lucky that this week’s show was taped for this reason. Not a good one.”
