Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, featuring John Cena and Evolution.
• Date For John Cena’s Final WWE Match Revealed
WWE is looking to turn John Cena’s final match into a major money-making weekend and is asking cities to pay for the chance to host it.
According to James Stewart of 98.5 The Sports Hub, WWE has officially packaged “John Cena’s Final Match” as a multi-day event and is asking for a $1.5 million commitment from interested cities.
The planned schedule would begin on December 10, 2025, and include community outreach events, an Undertaker 1 deadMAN SHOW on December 11, a live SmackDown on December 12, and Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13 — where Cena will wrestle his final match.
Stewart reported that WWE began pitching the event to cities just two days after Royal Rumble 2025 and hoped to have a host city locked in by the end of April. While Boston remains the most likely option—especially after Cena’s father, John Cena Sr., mentioned it publicly—WWE has not made anything official yet.

• Update On WWE Evolution 2 Plans
WWE is planning to do a second all-women’s Evolution premium live event. This could happen on the same weekend as Saturday Night’s Main Event in Atlanta this summer. If this happens, WWE would have two big shows that weekend.
Interestingly, the dates being considered are also when AEW is having its annual All In event.
So far, WWE hasn’t officially said anything about another Evolution show. Fightful Select asked some wrestlers about it, and they said they haven’t heard anything about it at work, but they know people are talking about it online.
Some WWE legends have also discussed the possibility. It’s not clear if WWE told them about it or if they just heard the rumors like everyone else. When Fightful asked WWE for information, the company didn’t give a clear answer.
