This Day In Old School Wrestling History (January 18th) – Stone Cold Wins His 2nd Royal Rumble (Video), An Upset Bigger Than The End of The Undertaker’s WrestleMania Streak

JANUARY 18, 1971

The day that Bruno Sammartino lost his WWWF World Heavyweight Championship to Ivan Koloff.

Those who witnessed the match live described it as a bigger upset than Brock Lesnar breaking The Undertaker’s streak, as literally no one saw this coming, no one expected Ivan to win and become champion.

That night in Madison Square Garden after the match was over, you could hear a pin drop.

JANUARY 18, 1986

Sting (Flash) & The Ultimate Warrior (Justice) teamed up as the Blade Runners in a match thair aired on CWA Memphis Wrestling TV that day.

One of the strongest Professional Wrestlers of all time, Ted Arcidi wrestled enhancement talent AJ Petruzzi.

Danny Spivey & The Junkyard Dog danced with some young fans in the ring after winning a Tag Team match.
