On this day in Pro Wrestling history on July 23, 2012, WWE Monday Night RAW’s 1000th episode took place at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri with 18,308 fans in attendance. This show marked the beginning of permanent 3 hour Raws.

On this show, DX reunited, The Rock announced that he will wrestle the WWE Champion at Royal Rumble 2013, The Undertaker returned, John Cena became the first person ever to unsuccessfully cash-in the Money in the Bank briefcase (didn’t win a World Title after cashing-in the contract), and CM Punk turned heel.

– Rey Mysterio, Sheamus & Sin Cara def. Alberto Del Rio, Chris Jericho and Dolph Ziggler

– Brodus Clay def. Jack Swagger

– The Miz def. Christian (c) to win the WWE Intercontinental Championship

– Lita def. Heath Slater in a No Disqualification match

– John Cena def. CM Punk via DQ after Big Show interfered. Punk retained the title. The Rock came out to save Cena from Big Show, but Punk ended up attacking The Rock and turned heel.
