Below are a couple of top AEW & WWE news stories of the day, featuring MJF, Britt Baker & more.
• Deonna Purrazzo recently addressed the backstage incident between Britt Baker and MJF that led to Baker’s suspension from AEW. In an interview with Stephanie Chase, Purrazzo acknowledged that the incident “sparked a lot of drama,” but emphasized that it was an isolated event and didn’t reflect her overall experience in the AEW locker room.
Purrazzo pointed out how quickly rumors can spread in the wrestling community, stating, “I think this was just kind of one instance that sparked a lot, a lot of drama, and also kind of took on a life of its own. The rumour mill starts going and things aren’t as they were, you know what I mean?” She added that the situation was blown out of proportion, saying, “People add their own two cents and it makes it way bigger than it was.”
Despite the incident, Purrazzo shared that her time in AEW has been overwhelmingly positive, highlighting the camaraderie and support among the wrestlers. “We just recently celebrated people’s birthdays, we had birthday cakes and sang. I feel like this locker room doesn’t get as much credit as it deserves for that type of camaraderie,” she explained.
Purrazzo, who has been enjoying her time in All Elite Wrestling, concluded, “I don’t know what it was like before. I can only speak to my experiences. But I feel like, again, it doesn’t get enough credit that it deserves.”

• During the TKO earnings call, TKO President Mark Shapiro talked about WWE RAW moving to Netflix in 2025.
Here’s what Shapiro said:
“Don’t underestimate the Netflix play. In the sense that, the Netflix deal for WWE is all about discovery. New audiences, new viewership, casual viewers. You’re going to go to that front page and WWE is going to be right there being promoted and marketed. That’s a whole new audience for us.
The folks who are already fans of WWE, they will follow. It will be an appointment. Netflix will serve to be a real discovery platform with us. Specifically, that will help us when it comes to site fees and sponsorship.”
