• Did Bruce Prichard Prevent The WWE Debut Of Former World Champion Recently?

We recently reported that former TNA World Heavyweight Champion & 2-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis (fka Magnus) returned to IMPACT Wrestling on April 16th at the Rebellion 2023 PPV, after having been a free agent since he left the NWA in November 2022.

There were many reports that Triple H was going to sign him up until recently and many fans don’t understand why that didn’t happen.

Here’s what the Wrestling Observer reported on it:

“I know that there were issues, I mean, Bruce Prichard at one point, I don’t know what the situation is today, but at one point Bruce Prichard was not a fan of Nick Aldis.

So, it was always one of those things where with Bruce Prichard in power, it wasn’t happening.”

Nick Aldis first appeared in Dixie Carter’s Total Nonstop Action! (TNA) in 2008 as Brutus Magnus and later went just by ‘Magnus’, even managing to win the TNA World Heavyweight Championship in December 2013.

Magnus was released in June 2015 and joined Jeff Jarrett’s Global Force Wrestling (GFW) the next day, where he eventually became the inaugural GFW Global Champion in October 2015.

In September 2017, Aldis joined the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA), that had been purchased by Billy Corgan a few months earlier, and ended up becoming the longest reigning NWA World Heavyweight Champion of the modern era, when he held the title from October 21st 2018 until August 29th 2021 (after already holding the belt from 2017 till 2018).
