After Judge Jeffrey Meyer placed the lawsuit in a 6-month stay back in June, there has been a new development regarding Janel Grant’s case. In July, Grant requested access to her medical records from Dr. Carlon Colker and the Peak Wellness Clinic. She claims that during her visits to the clinic, she was given unmarked pills with unknown dosages, which she alleges were arranged by Vince McMahon.

On August 7th, it was revealed that Colker had filed a “Verified complaint for bill discovery” on July 30th. In this filing, Colker describes Grant’s actions as part of a “smear campaign against (Colker and Peak Wellness) in order to bolster her well-publicized allegations concerning alleged sex trafficking and sexual assault.” He is now demanding that Grant:

“Provide information concerning her activities in intentionally fostering patent lies and material misstatements” related to her treatment at the clinic, suggesting that this information could be used in a potential legal case against her.

Colker believes this information would support claims of “defamation, tortious interference with business relations, and negligent and intentional infliction of emotional distress on Dr. Colker.”

Colker also noted that neither he nor the clinic are named as defendants in the lawsuit, despite being referenced in the 67-page document from January as a “Celebrity doctor” in an “Alternative Clinic.” He asserts that he “always advised and consulted in advance with Grant concerning any specific medications she was prescribed” and claims:

“Grant baselessly accuses Plaintiffs of failing to provide her with a Private Policy and itemization of any bills, despite the undisputable documented evidence to the contrary, including that Grant expressly signed and acknowledged receipt of Plaintiffs’ privacy policy, which are in Grant’s possession along with the entirety of her electronic medical record and metadata.”

Colker further insists that Grant’s previous claims about her treatments at the clinic are all false, stating:

“Grant’s claim that Dr. Colker or any of the staff at Peak Wellness ever intentionally withheld any information from her regarding her care is recklessly and harmfully false. Grant’s suggestion that Dr. Colker or any of the staff at Peak Wellness ever surreptitiously avoided and/or refused to explain any of the substances, dosages, or purpose of the vitamins Grant was provided, is recklessly and harmfully false.”

Colker also adds that Grant’s actions have caused “irreparable harm and perhaps incalculable damages, but well over tens of millions of dollars” to him and Peak Wellness.

In response to Colker’s filing, Grant’s attorney, Ann Callis, issued this statement:

“The court sided with Janel and against McMahon in confirming she was within her right to seek her own medical records and data from Dr. Carlon Colker of Peak Wellness. It is perplexing, but on brand to file an attack against a woman formerly in his care.”
