– Mustafa Ali asked for his WWE release and was granted it. This happened before WWE ended up releasing over 20 wrestlers last Thursday.
Ali was scheduled to face Dominik Mysterio for the NXT North American Championship at the NXT No Mercy premium live event on September 30th.
Dirty Dom was interviewed on In The Kliq podcast, where he said the following about Ali’s decision:
“Yeah, it’s a very unfortunate situation that very talented people have to go through situations like this. At the end of the day, it’s out of our control. We just do whatever we can to put our best foot forward. But as far as No Mercy goes, I’m just gonna have to wait and see who my opponent will be.”
Dominik will defend the NXT North American Title against Dragon Lee on tonight’s RAW.
– According to the Wrestling Observer, former WWE Champion Sheamus is out of action with a really bad shoulder injury.
That’s why he hasn’t worked SmackDown or Live Events as of late. His last match took place on the August 18th episode of SmackDown in Canada, where he lost to WWE Hall of Famer Edge in a first time ever match.
Sheamus will turn 46 is January and the only title left for him to win in WWE is the Intercontinental Championship.
