Drew McIntyre Breaks Character To Praise CM Punk

CM Punk Vs Drew McIntyre 2 Bash In Berlin WWE WrestleFeed App

Below are a couple of top news stories of the day, featuring Hulk Hogan and Drew McIntyre.

• During an interview with Sam Roberts at Fanatics Fest NYC, Drew McIntyre praised CM Punk for his durability and cardio in the ring.

Here’s what McIntyre said:

“When he says the biggest thing he’s got going for him is his heart, it’s true. He’s so stubborn, he just won’t give up, he’ll keep pushing forward. I was surprised when I got hit with the first punch how much I felt it. I was surprised when he kept kicking out.

Most of all, I was surprised by his durability, his cardio, so he caught me off-guard in that way. Honestly, I’ve been in the ring with the best of the best in the past 10 years. He still ranks right up there, as much as I take the pi$$, rightfully so, he still can get it done in the ring.”

• During an interview on Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast, Hulk Hogan recalled his legendary heel turn at WCW Bash At The Beach 1996.

Here’s what the Hulkster said:

“I called Eric (Bischoff) up, ‘Who is your third man?’ ‘We’re going to go with Sting’. ‘Bro, he’s not WWE.’ Scott and Kev are WWE. Sting has nothing to do (with WWE). I’m WWE from head to toe. I’m the third man.

Eric goes, ‘Really? Will you do it?’ ‘Yeah, I’ll do it.’ Eric didn’t even believe I would do it. I flew on a jet to Daytona and hid out in a hotel room. I told Eric, ‘Call me when the last match is in the ring before the main event’. Eric didn’t even think I was coming from the hotel.

He had Sting ready to go. They didn’t believe I would do it. I had creative control. I never used it. Never used it the whole time. I didn’t use it this night either.

When I walked out, Scott and Kevin almost sh*t. They had no idea I was coming out. It was kinda cool.”

It should be noted that Eric Bischoff has revealed in the past that Hogan used his creative control clause only once, which was on Hogan’s final day in the company, before the infamous WCW Bash At The Beach 2000 PPV.
