Below are a couple of top AEW & WWE news stories of the day, featuring Drew McIntyre and Bret Hart.
• On the March 28th episode of SmackDown, Drew McIntyre was attacked by Damian Priest, who chokeslammed him on a car windshield.
McIntyre later claimed that he suffered from real glass getting stuck in his eye.
The Scottish Psychopath took to X to show off a photo of himself wearing an eye patch following the attack last Friday. Alongside the photo, McIntyre wrote:
“Do you see who the real villains are now?”

It remains to be seen whether or not the eye patch will be utilized on television to further enhance the storyline, as McIntyre and Priest are sure to continue their feud in the coming weeks.
As we previously noted, PWInsider reported the following about this incident:
“After speaking with additional WWE sources upon their return to the United States, we are told that while McIntyre did receive treatment to have something cleared from his eye after the angle at the scene, we were told today that it was determined that what was removed was not glass. We are also told McIntyre was checked out by WWE medical before leaving SmackDown.”

• During an interview with Ariel Helwani, Bret Hart talked about the current state of professional wrestling.
Here’s what The Hitman said:
“I find in a lot of wrestlers, and I won’t necessarily name anybody, but I find that the wrestlers are more actors pretending to be wrestlers today than actual wrestlers. I miss the ruggedness of the characters. I think that’s why I still think the 90s was the best era of wrestling.
I find that today’s wrestling, it’s a little bit more about promos and your character on TV and not so much your work rate. I like guys that throw back a little bit more to the work rate.
Roman Reigns is a guy that I think tries really hard to earn the respect of my generation.
AEW… I find that they’re mostly actors trying to pretend to be wrestlers. Get on with the real wrestling and just quit acting so much.”
