• Drew McIntyre Received A Lot Of Respect After Friday’s SmackDown
On Friday’s episode of SmackDown, Drew McIntyre and Sheamus got the pin at the same time during a Fatal 5-Way match.
Both men will now collide this coming Friday on SmackDown, with the winner facing Gunther for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 39.
McIntyre is an absolute workhorse. Not only did he carry the RAW brand as the WWE Champion during the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic, he has also worked while being hurt and ill in recent memory.
Not just that, he had neck issues in January 2022 and returned within a month.
According to PWInsider, McIntyre was extremely ill before Friday’s SmackDown and originally wasn’t cleared to compete, but eventually was cleared by WWE’s medical team when he arrived to the arena:
“McIntyre, who works all the Live Events, has received a lot of respect for how hard he has worked for the company, even when under the weather or working banged up over the last year. He’s very much a locker room leader in that regard.”
