Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, involving Drew McIntyre and Shotzi.

• During an interview with The West Sport, Drew McIntyre revealed that the worst bump of his career was in his Hell in a Cell match against Randy Orton in 2020, where he lost the WWE Championship.

Drew and Randy were fighting halfway up the wall of the cell on the outside, when Drew fell and crashed through the announce table.

Here’s what The Scottish Warrior said:

“I’ve lost every single cell match. I’ve fallen off the Cell. It was the worst bump of my entire career, and I fell 10 feet off the side. I was halfway up, but I’m 6’7 with my wrestling boots on, so I’m looking back as before I fell an additional 7 feet.

So, falling 17 feet through a table, and you got a table, can break your fall. I’m not going to suggest this to anybody, but gravity is a hell of a thing, and you weigh 280 (pounds), you pick up speed, and it was the worst thing in my career.

I bit through my tongue right through the middle. I looked like a snake or something, and I got this crazy whiplash.”

• Shotzi suffered a knee injury while facing NXT Women’s Champion Lyra Valkyria during last week’s NXT TV tapings.

Here’s what she tweeted about this situation before Friday’s SmackDown:

“I don’t have much to say right now other than I am devastated. It’s heartbreaking to be missing my Elimination Chamber opportunity tonight. But I just wanted to wish all the women competing good luck. I’ll open up more about how I’m feeling and my injury later.”

In an update from PWInsider, Shotzi was in Birmingham, Alabama to get checked out by the doctors and she’ll be undergoing a knee surgery. This likely means that she’ll miss the rest of 2024.
