Below are some top news stories of the day, involving Drew McIntyre and Jim Ross.
• Drew McIntyre has been on a roll for months, engaging in a heated feud with CM Punk. Their rivalry has been marked by intense exchanges and physical confrontations. McIntyre has called out Punk for hypocrisy following the release of Punk’s new merchandise.
McIntyre has frequently criticized Punk’s tumultuous past, including his contentious time in AEW. On the July 22nd episode of RAW, Punk announced he was medically cleared to compete, setting the stage for their match at SummerSlam.
Punk’s new WWE T-Shirt has Drew’s name on it. McIntyre pointed out Punk’s past claim that he never needed to put another wrestler’s name on merchandise to sell it.
Here’s what McIntyre tweeted:
“‘I ain’t ever had to put another man’s name on a shirt to sell it’
Aging as well as ‘hey Colt Cabana how you doing?'”

• Earlier this year, Jim Ross signed a one-year deal with AEW and has been part of every major pay-per-view since then, including the last one: AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door 2024. However, concerns remain about his ability to attend All In at Wembley Stadium in London due to the long flight and his health.
On the Grilling JR podcast, Ross expressed his hope to be at Wembley Stadium and thanked fans for their well-wishes and AEW President Tony Khan for allowing him time to recover. Reflecting on last year, Ross said he worked a few matches and appreciated Khan’s fairness.
“It makes me feel good to know that people still give a sh*t, because I damn sure give a sh*t,” Ross said. “I hope to be in London. It’s not a guarantee yet, but it’s something that I’m shooting for.
Last year I worked a couple of matches, that was plenty, so we’ll see how it works out this time. Tony Khan’s been extremely fair with me, and I want to be extremely fair with him.”
