• Dutch Mantell Reacts To Ric Flair Ripping Him On Twitter

When Ric Flair’s last match was ranked #3 in the Wrestling Observer’s “Most Disgusting Promotional Tactic” of 2022, Flair bragged about making $300,000 for this match and told the fans who voted it this bad to “f**k off”.

Dutch Mantell (fka Zeb Colter in WWE & Uncle Zebekiah in WWF) didn’t like this and said Flair tarnished his legacy with this match and that The Nature Boy is full of sh*t.

This led to Flair tweeting the following:

“Thank God They Used The Word Veteran & Didn’t Call You A Legend. Just A Miserable Old Wrestler Trying To Make A Buck. And BTW, You Never Had A Legacy To Begin With. WOOOOO!”

After the above tweet reached 1 million people just on Twitter, Flair tweeted:

“I Just Made You More Famous Than You’ll Ever Be From A Single Tweet! WOOOOO!”

On SK Wrestling’s Smack Talk podcast, Dutch had the following to say about Flair’s tweets:

“Somehow, he went off on me today for basically telling the truth. I told the truth about him, and he got mad. And he was talking about, and this is what pissed me off, well, it didn’t really piss me off.

I respect Ric Flair, one of the greatest champions we’ve ever had. And I’ve had a couple of matches with him, not that many, but he went off on fans, and he released his payoff for the last match he had.

He said it was $300,000, which to me seems excessive, but I don’t know what kind of deal he had, so I can’t say that’s wrong. But he told his fans basically to kiss his a$$, and to me, that was disrespectful to the fans he has had for years and years and years.

I thought he was going to die (in the last match). I’ve had people on my timeline who said, ‘Is he dying? Is he okay?’ Because, by his own admission, he went into the ring drinking. He had taken some medication, he had been up for, I don’t know, an ungodly amount of hours.

And he goes in the ring, plus the match was laid out to really expose every weakness Ric Flair had. And he did. He looked like he was in bad shape. And when they pulled him out, he looked like, ‘Hell, he is about to be put in a gurney and taken out’.

He has already had a heart attack. When he had that heart attack, people all over the world sent him prayers and well wishes, they wanted him to get better. But here, he comes out and tells everybody to kiss his butt. That, to me, was very, very disrespectful.

He actually sent me a tweet today. He said I made you more famous with one tweet than you’ll ever be. Thank you, Ric. Please, send out another tweet. I want as many tweets as you can send out with my name in them because you did me a favor. I’d say that.

He called me an old something, a crippled old man. I’ll give you one: I am old. I remember him telling the fans to kiss his a$$. I remember that.

I’ll give you one thing, Ric. I’m old, but you are too. You are two months older than I am, so you can’t blame it on that. But I think my name today should have been trending on Twitter, and if it’s not, I’d be surprised.

He didn’t tweet me, somebody forwarded it to me. He didn’t even put my name in it. Now, that’s disrespectful. If someone talks about you bad and you’re going to send something about it, at least tag me in it. He didn’t tag me in it!

I didn’t start hearing about this until 5′ O clock, I guess. And then, from there on out, I’ve been covered up in DMs, private messages and texts. But out of 100% of them, if I could just, 90% kind of agreed with me.

When you tell the truth, and he responds in such a way, there must be something to it. All I’m saying is he is ungrateful.

Now, he might go back, and he might think about it again and say yeah, let it go. But if he doesn’t, hey, I’ll debate him anytime. It’s not up to me, it’s up to the fans and how they perceive it.”
