Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, featuring ECW, NXT and Carlito.
• WWE will broadcast a special NXT episode live from the 2300 Arena (formerly the ECW Arena) in Philadelphia on Wednesday, November 6, at 8 PM ET on The CW.
This follows NXT’s recent move to take shows on the road, with previous episodes airing in Chicago and St. Louis. NXT and AEW have gone head-to-head this month and are set to do so again on this date.
The show is airing on Wednesday instead of its usual Tuesday slot to avoid conflicting with the U.S. presidential election. Holding the event at this historic venue is expected to boost ratings.
PWInsider reports that ECW Legend Bubba Ray Dudley will be returning for this episode. He’s scheduled to meet VIP ticket holders as part of a package deal.
Bubba Ray has been associated with WWE since signing a Legends deal last year. He was the special guest referee for the Philadelphia Street Fight between The Pride and The Final Testament at WrestleMania 40 this past April.

• During this week’s RAW, Carlito made a controversial remark during a backstage segment with Adam Pearce.
After IYO SKY and Kairi Sane exited the room, Carlito commented, “I gotta learn Chinese.” This drew attention because both IYO and Kairi are Japanese, and IYO has previously faced offensive “go back to China” remarks.
According to Fightful Select, a staff member claimed that the line was not scripted. Reportedly, several people within the company were displeased about the incident.

In an update, WrestleVotes reported that there’s heat on Carlito for this unscripted line:
“That line was unscripted, that was from Carlito. There was some heat on Carlito for it. I know speaking to people I talked to it did take them by surprise.
So we’ll see what happens out of it. I don’t know how big a deal they’re gonna make it, but probably not a great look for Carlito.”
A report came out recently that Carlito might get a singles push after getting kicked out of The Judgment Day. We’ll see if this incident affects those plans.
