During a recent edition of “The Taz Show” podcast, ECW Legend Taz discussed the TLC 2017 main event and Kurt Angle WWE in-ring return after 11 years. Below is what Taz had to say about the match and the return:
“Just let me get right into this. Kurt Angle! We saw earlier in the night where Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins handed him a jacket/vest whatever, honorary member of the Shield…. all that stuff. I think that’s cool. I think that’s awesome.
I think Kurt should have respectfully declined. I don’t think Kurt should have taken it. The first thing I’m thinking is he’s gonna say – “Thank you guys! I appreciate it. I’ll hold this and keep it as a souvenir from the group I love (and put them over), but I think I’ll wear this on my chest” and he pulls out the gold medal.

That’s what they should’ve done in my opinion. Not a vest. Let him wear his singlet. Let him wear the red-white-blue. Kurt’s always in great shape. He looks to be in great shape. Let him come out with the gold medal on his neck and don’t let him come out through the audience with the Shield.

Let’s see his entrance. And the people do the whole ‘You Suck’ thing and then he’s got his singlet on and you know he’s got his gold metal on. Give us Kurt Angle. Don’t give us that he’s stepping in wearing the Shield gimmick.
Throughout the match we saw a plethora of chair shots and none of them were to the skull. None of them were anywhere near the head or face which was good. Okay, I do think there were a lot of chair shots and I don’t think that Kurt should have been dressed as a Shield member. I really don’t. I think that was a mistake.
I also don’t feel the thing about Kurt getting hurt and being taken out and then you know, I kind of knew he’s gonna come back later on. I knew when they took him out so that he can come out later on with his music. I was hoping he was gonna wear singlet.

I wasn’t crazy about this show. Look, the chair shots – there was a lot of them. I think they had to do something because it’s Tables, Ladders and Chairs. It’s tough to put that match up against the other TLCs we’ve seen in the past. This was not even nothing like that. Overall the show, I thought it was okay.”
