ECW Legend Thinks WWE Rushed With Enzo Amore’s “I’m The Big Star” Angle, Says Raw Wrestler Will Be A Transitional Champion

WWE Cruiserweight Championship

During a recent edition of The Taz Show, ECW Legend Taz discussed the main event of this week’s episode of Raw, where former two time United States Champion Kalisto defeated Enzo Amore in a Lumberjack match to win the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. Below is what he said:

“Kalisto becoming the new Cruiserweight Champion and beating Enzo. I was a little bit surprised that Enzo lost. I was a little bit surprised. I mean, he was in the main event spot like about three weeks in a row here, so I’d say that’s a huge thing for the Cruiserweights.

This is my perspective on the whole Enzo thing. Now some are like “It’s over, it’s done, thanks for coming, Enzo”. And I would say you’re out of your f***ing mind if you think that. I’m not gonna get to that part of the conversation. But here’s the thing. I feel like they maybe went a little too quick too soon with Enzo with the whole “I made this thing relevant, I’m the big star here”.

I think they could have waited a couple of weeks. I liked what they went with, but I would have no problem whatsoever if they would have kept that title on. I think they should have backed off a little bit with the whole locker room heat thing. I mean they sold it the right way that the the wrestlers didn’t like him. We got it and I just think doing it again last night, I don’t think that was needed especially if you beat the guy.

You know… if you’re gonna go that route and now accentuate it more that the wrestlers hate him umm… and I like the current angle with the lumberjack thing. I thought that was cool. I liked that. I think that was cool. He kind of lifted his ban a little bit or whatever he did. I mean it makes current look like bad but that’s when sometimes they need jerk on the booking. That’s what happens. But I thought it was a good little twist with the lumberjack thing. I just don’t think they should have really had the announcers go to route of ‘This guy’s hated in the locker room so much’ and then have him loose.

Now, my gut tells me that Kalisto will be a transitional champion and that they want that title or at least an opportunity or something back on Neville (if he stays with WWE). That’s what I’m thinking they want to do. I don’t think they should do that. Like I said weeks ago here Neville does not need a championship.

I would have never just be that sinister, angry, mean son of a bitch or even instead of giving him a championship, give him a faction. Give him like two guys around him or three guys. Now yeah, they’re doing the Shield over again so you don’t want to have a little confusion with that either. So maybe that’s not a good idea. I’m just spitballing here.

I just don’t think putting the title on him is the right thing. He doesn’t need it. Neville doesn’t need it. I think they’re gonna. And I think that, like I said a second ago, Kalisto is a transitional champ. I really do. Absolutely the transitional champ. There’s no doubt about it. I might be wrong on this.

I think the guy’s a tremendous talent. No doubt about it. I also think the timing of it was awesome because I believe Monday was Eddie Guerrero’s birthday. The late great Eddie Guerrero. And Kalisto spoke in his promo on Raw, which I thought was great, about Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero and respect and he was a fan of that and all. and I it was pretty cool.”
