• ECW Original Almost Returned As A Surprise Entrant In The 2015 Royal Rumble

During a recent interview with The Wrestling Binge, ECW Original The Blue Meanie revealed that he almost became a surprise entrant in the 2015 Royal Rumble match, that took place at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on January 25th 2015, but ended up being replaced with fellow ECW Original Bubba Ray Dudley.

The Meanie is open to being a part of WrestleMania 40 in 2024, as that event will take place at the Lincoln Financial Field stadium in ECW’s famous hometown Philadelphia.

Here’s what the bWo member said about Royal Rumble 2015:

“I was almost a part of the Rumble here in Philadelphia. That was the infamous Roman Reigns winning, where everybody wanted Daniel Bryan to win, but Roman won. I had reached out to JBL, of all people, and JBL went to the office and pitched me.

What better way to promote the DVD than, ‘Hey! Blue Meanie! ECW! By the way, here comes ECW Unreleased Volume Three!’. And it came down to me and Bubba Ray Dudley, and it was almost me but they picked Bubba.

WrestleMania is coming to Philadelphia. WrestleMania is coming to Philadelphia very soon, so we will see if we can have an ECW presence here in Philadelphia.”
