• Edge On If John Cena & Shawn Michaels Had Real Life Heat In 2007
In this flashback interview, we take a look at WWE Hall of Famer Edge giving his views on if John Cena & Shawn Michaels had real life heat back in 2007 (where they main evented WrestleMania 23 in a WWE Championship match).
Below are the highlights:
Host: Do you know if John Cena and HBK had legit head during and after the WrestleMania 23 match?
Edge: I don’t think so. I’ve never heard of them having heat. I think with guys like that, the only thing they would have is that professional kind of drive to one-up each other. But I don’t think, knowing both of those guys, that it would be like legit heat at all. I think it would just be more of that competitive…you know.
Host: It’s that drive that that great performers have that bring people up to a different level. Right?
Edge: And let’s face it. At that point Shawn would be bringing John up to his level and in the ring Shawn is always gonna be bringing people…like there’s probably nobody to his level. So that would always be the case with those two.
But John, that was another instance of him upping his game to another level and I think because Shawn brings that out in people and that’s arguably the best ever.
