Edge Returns & Announces “I Quit” Match On AEW Dynamite

Below are the complete results from tonight’s AEW Dynamite.

– Swerve Strickland kicked off tonight’s AEW Dynamite and said he felt the fans were really behind him for the first time ever at Revolution and promised that he will not let them down. Swerve promised to become AEW World Champion and put Samoa Joe on notice.

Joe then came out and Swerve challenged him to a World Title match right now. This led to Undisputed Kingdom coming out.

Adam Cole said no one will care about Swerve in 6 months and Joe is only champion because they let them. Cole said #1 contender Wardlow will become the next AEW World Champion and will then hand the title to its rightful owner – him.

Cole issued a challenge for next week – ROH Tag Team Champions Mike Bennett & Matt Taven vs. AEW World Champion Samoa Joe vs. Swerve Strickland.

Swerve said let’s do this match right now. Cole said Swerve doesn’t make the rules. Tony Schiavone interrupted and said he has received a message from Tony Khan, which is that this match is going to happen right now.

– Swerve Strickland & AEW World Champion Samoa Joe def. ROH Tag Team Champions Mike Bennett & Matt Taven

Swerve picked up the win for his team in this match. Wardlow came out after the match and Swerve started looking at him. This led to Joe locking in the Coquina Clutch on Swerve from behind and choked him out. Joe then posed with the AEW World Title.

All Elite Wrestling then announced Samoa Joe vs. Wardlow for the AEW World Championship on next week’s Big Business edition of AEW Dynamite.

– Young Bucks revealed that they will make two huge announcements in the ring later tonight.

– Chris Jericho said he’s not happy with Hook (Taz’s son) dropping him on his head at Revolution. Jericho acknowledged that Hook might be the real deal.

– Hook (c) def. Brian Cage to retain the FTW Championship

Gates of Agony attacked Hook after the match, which led to Chris Jericho making the save.

– Killswitch (with TNT Champion Christian Cage & Nick Wayne) def. “Daddy Magic” Mike Menard

Daniel Garcia made the save for Menard after the match. Wayne attacked Garcia and then Killswitch joined in on the attack.

Christian is posing with his faction on the stage, when “Edge” Adam Copeland attacked Killswitch & Wayne. Copeland then chased Cage to the backstage area all the way to outside the arena. Cage managed to escape in a car.

Copeland said this will end where it started – Toronto. On the March 20th episode of Dynamite – Copeland vs. Cage III for the TNT Championship in an “I Quit” match.

– Young Bucks said Sting & Darby Allin cheated at Revolution. They announced their entry in the Tag Team Title tournament. Regarding the huge announcements, Matthew Jackson suspended “Hangman” Adam Page from The Elite without pay for putting his hands on 2 AEW officials at Revolution. He then fired Kenny Omega from The Elite for missing dates for no reason. Continental Crown Champion Eddie Kingston interrupted them. A brawl broke out and the Bucks took him out.

NJPW Veteran Kazuchika Okada then made his return to AEW TV. He turned heel and took out Kingston. Okada has signed with All Elite Wrestling.

– AEW Women’s World Champion “Timeless” Toni Storm will give out the first ever Toni Award.

– AEW World Tag Team Champion Darby Allin said he will face Jay White next week and then go climb Mount Everest on March 27. He then said:

“There’s no guarantee that I’m gonna come back alive from Mount Everest.”

Allin then officially relinquished the Tag Team Title. Jay White then came out and said Darby did everything he could to make sure Sting retires as champion. White questioned what Darby is without Sting. White then invited Darby to join the Bang Bang Scissor Gang. Darby said Jay hasn’t done anything since joining AEW.

– Will Ospreay def. ROH TV Champion Kyle Fletcher

Bryan Danielson came out after the match and had a face off with Ospreay.
