Below are a couple of top news stories of the day, involving Elias and Randy Orton.
• Elijah (fka Elias in WWE) will face TNA wrestler “Speedball” Mike Bailey in his first post-WWE match. Elias was released from WWE last year.
This match will take place at Wrestling REVOLVER’s “Whatashow” event on February 17th, which will take place at The Epic in Grand Prairie, Texas.
• During an interview on WWE’s The Bump, Randy Orton was asked about his dream match.
Here’s what the 14-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion said:
“A dream match for me would be to somehow find myself in a situation where I’m fighting (John) Cena at WrestleMania for the title.
I don’t know how you get there, I’m not saying it’s gonna happen, but I have never wrestled John at WrestleMania in a singles match.
So, that and we had some wars back in the day, so being able to revisit that after all this time. I think it’s not only something that I would want, it’s something that fans would eat it up too.”
While Cena and Orton have never faced each other in a singles match at WrestleMania, they did wrestle each other at a WrestleMania once.
At WrestleMania 24 in 2008, Orton defeated Triple H and Cena in a Triple Threat Match to retain the WWE Championship. Orton pinned Cena to win this match.
