6. WWE Doing A New Championship Tournament Soon, Possible Cruiserweight Championship Match For WrestleMania 33
After the recent WWE United Kingdom Championship tournament, WWE is planning to do another regional Championship tournament. The next tournament being discussed is the WWE Asia Championship Tournament.
It should be noted that WWE officials have sent out a clear statement that the wrestlers in the tournament won’t be allowed to take external bookings.
WWE is planning to do a Cruiserweight Title match between Neville & Austin Aries at WrestleMania 33. Aries’ orbital bone injury has healed and he has been cleared to compete now.
After missing last year’s WrestleMania due to injury, below is what Cruiserweight Champion Neville had to say about competing at WrestleMania 33:
“Well, I’m finally where I deserve to be and where I should always have been: on a platform to showcase my abilities. I’m not sitting back and watching it unfold. I am right on the forefront. I am proud of what I’ve done. I’m not at all regretful for how I’ve behaved and I will continue to do what is best for me, my family, and what has my best interests in mind.”
