Earlier this year, WWE held WrestleMania 40 at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In 2025, WrestleMania 41 is set to take place in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Where will WrestleMania 42 take place? Well, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro is claiming that the event will return to Philadelphia in 2026.
In a Q&A video posted on X, Shapiro was asked about upcoming events for America’s 250th Anniversary in 2026, and he included WrestleMania among them. He said:
“So get this, in Philly, we’ve got the Major League Baseball All-Star Game, we got the FIFA World Cup, we got WrestleMania, we got a little golf action, the PGA Championship and if you go over to Pittsburgh, we’ve got the NFL Draft and a lot more cool stuff happening all across Pennsylvania in the year 2026 for USA 250.”
Some fans might not be pleased to hear that WrestleMania will return to the same city just two years later.
UPDATE: According to PWInsider, several WWE sources were surprised by Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro’s mention of WrestleMania 42 taking place in Philadelphia.
According to a well-placed source, the location for WrestleMania in 2026 has not yet been finalized.
Some within WWE speculated that Shapiro might have meant to reference WWE events in general, rather than WrestleMania specifically, but it remains unclear if that was the case.
