• Old School WWF Legend Would Have Celebrated His Birthday

Today would have been the 57th birthday of Old School WWF Legend Earthquake (Real name: John Tenta).

The former Sumo Wrestling Champion joined the World Wrestling Federation in 1989 as “The Canadian Earthquake”, which was later shortened to just “Earthquake”.

In 1991, he formed a Tag Team called “The Natural Disasters” with Tugboat, who became known as Typhoon, and together they won the WWF World Tag Team Championship.

By 1994 he had left the Federation and joined Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling, where he became known as “Avalanche”, then “Shark” and later under his real name, John Tenta.

Tenta had one last run for the WWF in 1998 & 1999 as the masked “Golga”, but later returned for one night at WrestleMania X-Seven, where he entered the famous Gimmick Battle Royal.

Earthquake getting inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame is actually only a matter of when, not if.
