Below are a couple of top WWE & AEW news stories of the day, involving Thunder Rosa and the team of Austin Theory – Grayson Waller:

• Former AEW Women’s World Champion Thunder Rosa hasn’t stepped inside the ring since the summer of 2022. After suffering a back injury, she relinquished the AEW Women’s World Championship on the August 24th 2022 episode of Dynamite.

She has been training to return to the ring over the past couple of months, and often shares her progress in the vlogs she uploads on YouTube. She also participated in a mini-match at the end of August.

The Wrestling Observer reported a month back that Rosa is now expected back very shortly.

In an update from Fightful Select, Rosa has been cleared to return, but is still waiting for creative plans:

“She’s still on the Collision intro, still doing (Spanish) commentary. She’s good to go. She’s been good to go for a while though. Waiting on creative.”

• Austin Theory and Grayson Waller have started teaming up on SmackDown.

During a Q&A session, Sean Ross Sapp was asked how WWE’s Chief Content Officer Triple H sees Theory & Waller in comparison to NXT stars like Bron Breakker and Carmelo Hayes.

Below is what Sapp said:

“Just completely different views. They always saw Theory and Waller as high upside. I mean, Waller is very easy for them to do business with as well. Listens really well, and gets them a lot of buzz when necessary.

With Austin Theory, they kind of saw him in that Baron Corbin role where if somebody’s coming back to do something, he can take the heat from that person, and it won’t affect their booking.”
