• Former Champion Returns On Tonight’s SmackDown

On tonight’s post-SummerSlam, and go-home edition of SmackDown for Payback, former Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn made his return.

Zayn was gone for over 4 months and WWE stripped him of the Intercontinental Championship.

However, Zayn returned with his old Intercontinental Title belt and danced around the new Intercontinental Champion Jeff Hardy (Jeff defeated Shinsuke Nakamura to retain the Title on tonight’s SmackDown).

Later in a backstage segment, Zayn reunited with SmackDown Tag Team Champions Cesaro & Shinsuke Nakamura, but they weren’t happy with him for abandoning them, and told him to leave.
