An interesting name is on his way back to WWE.

Erick Rowan’s sudden withdrawal from several recent independent bookings, notably including one for East Coast Pro Wrestling (ECPW), ignited rumors of a return to WWE.

The buzz surrounding Rowan’s potential return gained momentum after ECPW announced that he had withdrawn from the event due to “new contractual obligations”. Many interpreted this statement as a strong indication of Rowan’s imminent return to the WWE fold.

Adding fuel to the speculation, multiple sources revealed that Rowan was spotted in Pittsburgh recently. Pittsburgh holds significance as the location where aspiring WWE talent undergo medical evaluations before signing contracts with the company.

In an update on this situation, PWInsider is reporting that Rowan has officially signed a new contract with WWE.

This comes at a interesting time, as Rowan’s Wyatt Family brother Braun Strowman returned on this week’s RAW.

Also, the “Uncle Howdy” character, a persona associated with the late Bray Wyatt, played by Wyatt’s real-life brother Bo Dallas, is scheduled to make a return, with WWE dropping teases for it every week.

Below are Erick Rowan’s top accomplishments in WWE:

– 2x SmackDown Tag Team Champion (once with Luke Harper and once with Daniel Bryan)

– 1x NXT Tag Team Champion (with Luke Harper)

– 1x Slammy Award winner

– Defeated Roman Reigns in a singles match at WWE Clash of Champions 2019

Rowan was last seen on WWE TV on the August 25, 2023 episode of SmackDown, where he made a one-off appearance to pay tribute to Bray Wyatt, who passed away the previous day.
