Below are some top news stories of the day, involving TNA and The Undertaker.

• Austin Aries had a memorable run in TNA Wrestling, but his time with the company ended in dramatic fashion at Bound For Glory 2018. After losing the Impact World Championship to John Morrison, Aries shocked fans by immediately standing up, walking out of the ring, and flipping off several Impact Wrestling executives—including Don Callis. That moment marked his last appearance in the promotion, and for years, many assumed he would never return.

However, Aries recently revealed that he has been in discussions with TNA Wrestling about a possible comeback. Speaking on The Soul Sessions, the former Impact World Champion was asked whether he was open to signing with a major company again. Aries confirmed that he has had brief talks with TNA over the past few months, though he made it clear that nothing is set in stone.

“I’m not opposed to having conversations if there’s interest anywhere. I had some brief conversations with TNA in the last three or four months about the door being open. It’s just a timing thing, so we’ll see what the future holds.”

While Aries insists that his infamous 2018 exit was all part of a storyline, the controversy surrounding the incident left a lasting impression. Whether or not he officially returns to TNA, his willingness to reopen discussions signals that the door may not be completely closed after all.

• As we noted earlier, The Undertaker praised World Heavyweight Champion Gunther during an interview on SHAK Wrestling:

“Gunther… that’s my guy. I love that dude. Honestly, everything he does, because he’s so different. He can work with anybody, and he does his style regardless. And he’s not a bunch of flippy-dos and meaningless moves.

Everything he does makes sense. He cuts a great promo. He believes in who he is, and in turn, the audience believes that’s who he is. And I haven’t really seen him ever where he was that far different than what you see on TV, even backstage, which, you know me, I appreciate that more than anything.”

On his Six Feet Under podcast, The Deadman revealed what would’ve happened in a match between him and Gunther:

“We could fist fight. As much as I love him, as much as I love watching him work and everything he does, we’d fist fight. He’d hit me, by the second time I’ll be like, ‘Alright, let’s go.'”

Undertaker has said in the past that he would’ve loved to test The Ring General’s in-ring skills before his retirement in 2020.
