• Former World Champion Signs With AEW
Former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Jay White recently left New Japan Pro Wrestling.
There was speculation that White could be coming to WWE. There was even a report which stated that Triple H is very confident about signing White.
However, PWInsider reported that isn’t the case:
“There was absolutely no discussion of former New Japan Pro Wrestling star Jay White within WWE at all over the WrestleMania 39 weekend.
Based on multiple conversations with WWE officials and talents, we are told it does not appear White is WWE-bound.”
AEW President Tony Khan announced tonight that White has officially signed with All Elite Wrestling.
