On this day in Pro Wrestling history on February 3, 1989, the World Wrestling Federation aired ‘WWF The Main Event 2’ LIVE on NBC.

The entire TV show only included 2 matches, but still made history as it included “The Macho Man” Randy Savage’s Heel turn on Hogan, thus breaking up The Mega Powers, which led to their epic WrestleMania V Main Event.

The results were:

– The Mega Powers def. The Twin Towers

– “The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase def. Hercules

• Former World Champion Training To Return Soon (Video)

During an interview with WrestleZone in December, former World Champion The Big Show talked about his hip surgery and noted that he plans to return to the ring as soon as possible:

“Recovery’s going great. Everything is moving forward. For the past four years, I’ve been dealing with a pretty aggravating hip injury. We had the hip resurfacing done and it’s been fantastic. Dr. Su in New York did the surgery.

Dr. Alvarado here in Miami is doing all the follow-up stuff with it and my rehab is going fantastic. Right now, I’m just following protocol so I can get stronger and return to competition ASAP.”

He recently posted a video of him training and hinted at a return by using the hashtag “#GiantReturn”. Below is what he posted on Instagram:
