Former WWE Champion Says Gunther Backed Out Of Facing Him

• During an interview on WWE’s The Bump, Bobby Lashley revealed that he asked former Intercontinental Champion Gunther to face him in a match and The Ring General backed out of it.

Here’s what the former WWE Champion said:

“One person that I’d like to get my hands on because they’ve kept us really far apart for so long is Gunther.”

When the hosts brought up what Gunther did to Sheamus, Lashley said:

“Oh, yeah, I’m really nervous about that (laughs)! I’m not the one… look, I’ve asked for this matchup several times. I even asked him. He didn’t want to. He backed out.”

• CM Punk began using Cult Of Personality by Living Colour as his entrance theme song in WWE in 2011.

During an interview on the Drinks with Johnny Podcast, Living Colour singer Corey Glover revealed WWE’s original plan for Punk’s theme song:

“They had their own music division of the WWE and they were gonna have somebody make up a song that sounded similar to Cult of Personality. But that was gonna be his entrance music.

[CM Punk said] ‘No, I don’t want that. I want the real thing.’ He’s like one of the talent that actually got that in his contract that wherever he goes, that goes with him.”
