During an interview with ‘Muscle Memory’, former WWE Diva Kaitlyn was asked whether she would consider coming out of retirement to wrestle another match.
Here’s what she replied:
”I think with anything I am not 100% so against coming back like ‘Oh, I’m retired and that’s it’.
I’m always open to cool opportunities, cool collaborations, it’s not really in my sight right now to pursue wrestling, but after so many years of being removed from it I certainly have a different appreciation for it.
I feel like I understand it on such a deeper level and for truly such an art form that it is. I’ll never say I’m retired and I’ll never get in a ring again, but it’s not anything that I am actively trying to make happen.”
Fitness Model Celeste Bonin joined WWE’s then developmental promotion Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) in July 2010 and wrestled there briefly until September 2010, when she made her debut as ‘Kaitlyn’ on season 3 of NXT, which was then a seasonal (scripted) reality-TV-show with wrestling matches and other contests, and not the developmental brand it is today.
On November 30th 2010, Kaitlyn was announced the winner of the season and became ‘WWE’s Breakout Diva’, who just a few days later appeared on the WWE main roster during an episode of ‘SmackDown!’.
She wrestled for the promotion until January 2014 and pretty much retired from in-ring competition but returned to the ring for a few matches in 2018 & 2019, including a brief WWE comeback to enter the WWE Mae Young Classic 2018 tournament.
Kaitlyn’s biggest accomplishment of her career was certainly winning the WWE Divas Championship from Eve Torres at the 20th Anniversary show of Monday Night RAW on January 14th 2013.
