Rey Mysterio as the WWE Champion
It was announced by AAA that former WWE Champion Rey Mysterio will team up with his former WWE tag team partner Myzteziz (Original Sin Cara in WWE) to battle the team of Perro Aguayo Jr. and Pentagon Jr. on March 15th at the Rey de Reyes show.
Former WWE Champion Alberto El Patron (f.k.a Alberto Del Rio) will also be wrestling at the event and will face former WWE developmental wrestler Brian Cage.
As noted before, Rey Mysterio is reportedly going to be the new face of AAA & Lucha Underground as the officials there are hoping that Mysterio’s popularity with the Mexican-American community would help both the promotions get a better presence on TV.
