On this day in Pro Wrestling history on April 21, 2002, the World Wrestling Federation aired ‘Backlash 2002’ LIVE on PPV from the Kemper Memorial Arena in Kansas City, Missouri.

This was the 4th annual Backlash event held by the WWF/WWE from 1999 till 2009 and again since 2016.

• Former WWE Wrestler Hopeful For A Return To The Company After Being Fired 2 Years Ago

One of the top comedy wrestlers in WWE in 2016, James Ellsworth, is hoping to return to WWE. He started working with the company after the Draft in 2016, and was fired by then SmackDown General Manager Paige in July 2018 to end his run.

Lewis Nicholls of WWE Latest News recently interviewed Ellsworth, where he revealed that he was open to working with WWE again.

“You just never know, man. I would definitely go back and do more. I loved it there, I had a lot of fun and I would love to go back and do some more, absolutely. I think the majority of the former talent there that you speak with would say the same thing.”
