We are saddened to report that former WWF & WCW Women’s Wrestler Peggy Lee passed away on May 22nd at the age of 64.

Peggy famously wrestled for the World Wrestling Federation from 1980 to 1985 and was mostly remembered for teaming up with Wendi Richter to challenge Velvet McIntyre & Princess Victoria for the WWF Women’s Tag Team Championship.

Between 1986 and 1988, she worked for several promotions, including Championship Wrestling From Florida, Lutte Internationale (Montreal, Quebec) and Verne Gagne’s American Wrestling Association, including a performance at the AWA SuperClash III pay-per-view event on December 13th 1988.

Under the name Peggy Lee Leather, she also had a few matches for Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling over the years.

Her WCW run included a loss in a mixed Tag Team match with Bill Ford against Bambi & Reno Riggins on NWA PRO in September 1990 and a loss in a singles match against Bambi on NWA World Wide Wrestling in the same month, before returning several years later in a loss to Madusa (aka Alundra Blayze) on WCW Saturday Night in March 1997.
