Former WWE Women’s Champion Gail Kim drew criticism on social media after she called for peace following the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. Some of her posts intended to promote unity instead triggered a storm of hateful and racially charged responses.

On X, Kim addressed the abuse she received: comments about her marriage were used to mock or discredit her plea for peace. She condemned the racial bias and stereotypical attacks in these reactions, saying they revealed people’s prejudices rather than anything about her message.

Kim emphasized that her intention wasn’t political. She said she was advocating for peace – not taking sides.

A fan wrote: “For someone who bashed WWE for racism and misogyny only to mourn someone who was literally like this and wouldn’t even mourn you, people who look like you or others minorities…your takes are certainly choices.”

Gail replied: “I can bash and be against it and speak out. Does that mean I want them to die??? Your take is certainly a choice too.”

Kim further added:

“I’m guessing it’s because I said I want peace and conversation in life. And that I don’t condone murder. People are so divided right now that they cannot open their minds out of the hate. They think I’m saying you have to pick a side and that’s actually the opposite of that.

It’s amazing the amount of hatred people spew when you say you want peace & conversations. They talk about how one side is so racist and in the next breath, they say oh you marry a rich white guy and that’s how you feel that way. Blows my mind what social media has done to our World.

Just so people know yes my husband is white. I married him because I love him and he wasn’t rich when I met him. Not that that matters because that’s just hatred being spewed at me because they’re not hearing exactly what they want. Peace and love everybody.

People who are haters always throw that at me. Oh the Asian girl married the white boy. Oh give me a break. Just actually shows their ignorance, racial bias and intelligence level.

[My husband] worked his a$$ off and continues to do till this day for his success. People hate and envy those who have success. Instead of so much talk, maybe they should get off their a$$es and spend that energy into themselves.

Stop making ignorant comments. I have always been clear on my stance on racism. Nothing has changed. When I talk about peace and conversation why does that have to turn into racism? Just makes zero sense.”
