• “Getting 4 DUIs in 5 years was just ridiculous” – Former WWE Champion

During an episode of his podcast, former WWE Champion Kurt Angle opened up about the alcohol issues he had during his time (2006-2016) in Dixie Carter’s Total Nonstop Action! (TNA).

The Olympic Gold Medalist stated that he didn’t realize he had a severe problem until he was forced to enter rehab.

Here’s what Kurt Angle said:

“I was having a tough time. I was making horrible decisions. Irresponsible decisions. Getting 4 DUIs in 5 years was just ridiculous. When you’re doing that, you know you have a problem. I didn’t want to admit it until I ended up going to rehab in 2013. It took me awhile to come to my gripes, but eventually I did.”

Kurt Angle wrestled his final professional wrestling match at the WWE WrestleMania 35 pay-per-view on April 7th 2019, which he lost to Baron Corbin.

The former 13-time World Heavyweight Champion (2x WWF Champion, 2x WWE Champion, 1x WCW World Heavyweight Champion in the WWF, 1x World Heavyweight Champion in WWE, 6x TNA World Champion, 1x IWGP Heavyweight Champion) has been officially retired ever since.
