5. “Give me until the end of the year for God’s sake” – Goldberg On His Possible In-Ring Return, Says He Doesn’t Owe Brock Lesnar A Rematch

Former WWE & WCW World Heavyweight Champion Goldberg appeared on ESPN SportsCenter “Off The Top Rope” segment with Jonathan Coachman last night.

Goldberg was asked about his possible in-ring return and Goldberg said he’s 49 years old now. He noted how Ric Flair pulled it off at age 49 but he doesn’t know if he can pull it off as his character is all about intensity & strength.

Goldberg also noted that he fears he would tarnish his legacy if he returns at this age. Coach asked him how much time would he need if he needed to make an in-ring return. Goldberg said he doesn’t know and would talk about this with his family. Goldberg then went on to say “give me until the end of the year for God’s sake”.

Goldberg noted that he doesn’t owe Brock Lesnar a rematch (as he defeated him in their first & only meeting at WrestleMania 20), but went on to say that if he returns then that would be the match.
