On this day in 2001, the World Wrestling Federation aired an episode of their weekly syndicated TV show ‘WWF Jakked’ (night version) aka ‘WWF Metal’ (afternoon version).
It featured pre-taped mid-card matches on the road to the ‘WWF Royal Rumble 2001’ PPV.

• Goldberg Reacts To Roman Reigns Taking A Shot At Him
We have a new addition in “The Big Dog” Roman Reigns’ entrance now – a piece of pad.
The pad is there to protect Reigns’ hand when he punches the ground and the pyro goes off.

A fan asked Reigns on Twitter to explain this move and Reigns went on to take a shot at WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg while giving an answer to the fan:
“Nothing to explain Nick. It’s a little piece of pad. So I don’t break my hand on steel grate. I gotta perform like 48 weeks a year man. So that would be stupid.
It would be like,? head butting a door before my match level of stupid. Anyway, have a good day Nick. ??”

For those who didn’t get it, Goldberg headbutts the door before his matches (although he didn’t do that at SummerSlam 2019, after what happened at Super ShowDown 2019).
Goldberg went on to reply the following to Reigns:
“1 of those “C’mon man” ESPN moments. I’ll stick with my old school ways ….seems to of worked 99% of the time. We all have bad days.
I tend to tap into an entirely different level of intensity. Doesn’t work for everyone. Kinda like the difference between #UGA & GeorgieTech. ? “

It’s very much possible that these tweets were made with the intention of possibly doing Roman Reigns vs. Goldberg at a future date (as WWE officials do use Social Media to begin/continue storylines).
We noted last year how there were plans to Roman Reigns vs. Goldberg at the first Saudi Arabia PPV of 2020.
With the first Saudi PPV of this year taking place on February 27th, is it possible that we get a “Spear vs. Spear” match between Reigns & Goldberg?
