• Goldberg’s Status For Backlash 2025

Gunther will face Pat McAfee this Saturday at Backlash. This has begun speculation that WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg might return at this PLE to save McAfee from The Ring General.

WrestleVotes reported the following about Goldberg’s status for this premium live event:

“I haven’t heard anything. He started the whole thing at Bad Blood with Gunther. They haven’t done anything since. McAfee’s got the football background, Goldberg’s got the football background.

The Saudi Arabia pay-per-view is coming up. So, if they want Goldberg and Gunther to take place in this Saudi Arabia PLE that happens in June, you might as well start it here in May.

But again, I haven’t heard if he’ll be there on Saturday for Backlash and he’s not expected to be there.”

According to PWN, the next Saudi Arabia PLE will be Night of Champions on June 28.

• Released WWE Wrestler Made It Clear He Didn’t Want To Be On Evolve

Former WWE NXT wrestler Riley Osborne was reportedly unhappy about being assigned to the WWE Evolve brand before his release, according to Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Live:

“One of the big things was, there are people that they want to go and help out Evolve. And I was told he did not want to go to Evolve, and he made it very well known.”

Osborne was officially released from WWE on May 2. He had wrestled on WWE Evolve tapings in February, but later suffered an ankle / foot injury and had surgery on March 7. His release followed a few weeks later, during a wave of company-wide cuts.

Osborne has not made any public statements about his release or the Evolve situation.
