Below are a couple of top WWE & TNA news stories of the day, featuring Goldberg and AJ Styles.
• Following Goldberg’s surprise appearance at WWE Bad Blood 2024 and his confrontation with World Heavyweight Champion Gunther, speculation has emerged about a potential in-ring return for the Hall of Famer.
During the event, Gunther insulted Goldberg, calling him a “one-trick pony” to provoke a fight. Although Goldberg tried to answer the challenge, security intervened, and Sami Zayn took the opportunity to attack Gunther, further building tension.
There are conflicting reports regarding when Goldberg will have his next match in WWE. Some sources claim he will face Gunther at Survivor Series, while others claim it’s not planned for Survivor Series or WrestleMania 41.
However, one thing is clear – he will have one more match.
When asked about the possibility of Goldberg interfering in Gunther’s match against Cody Rhodes at Crown Jewel, WrestleVotes reported:
“I don’t know for sure, but there are plans for Goldberg in the future, yes.”
In an update, PWInsider is reporting that Goldberg is not scheduled to be in Saudi Arabia for this Saturday’s Crown Jewel premium live event.

• AJ Styles was reportedly a candidate for induction into the TNA Hall of Fame during Bound For Glory 2024 weekend. At the event, late TNA co-founder Bob Ryder and Rhino, who still actively wrestles for the company and participated in the Call Your Shot Gauntlet match, were inducted.
According to Fightful Select, both AJ Styles and Monty Brown (also known as Marcus Cor Von in WWE) were considered for induction, with TNA even reaching out to inquire about including Styles.
The possibility was discussed with WWE, who ultimately declined. It’s believed within TNA that this may have been due to Styles’ recent injury or his involvement in an active storyline.
A fan blamed Triple H for this decision on X, which led to AJ Styles tweeting the following:
“I’m still an active wrestler… I hope. I made the decision not to go into the TNA HOF, not WWE. I appreciate TNA, but I don’t want to go into any HOF as long as I’m still active. My choice.”
