Jim Ross Comments On How Today’s WWE Commentary Team Is Produced Differently

During a recent interview with ESPN, below is what WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross had to say about today’s WWE commentary team:

“A lot of folks get angry at today’s commentators, but it’s how they’re produced. It’s their skill-set, a lot of them, and it’s what is asked of them to perform and to do … the demands on today’s wrestling broadcasters are extensive. The job description of that role has evolved and changed over the years. People can hear, and they can certainly tell that.

It’s changed a lot, and that’s due to the fact that there are a lot of producers who are dictating what the product sounds like on the air. It’s a different mindset, they were raised differently. They have different values and they perceive things differently.”

Very Good News For AJ Styles

At Hell In A Cell 2017 PPV, “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles lost the United States Championship to “The Lone Wolf” Baron Corbin in a Triple Threat match (which also involved Tye Dillinger).

Then on this week’s SmackDown Live, Styles lost his US Title rematch against Corbin. With that loss, Styles is now out of the United States Title picture. However, this is not a bad news.

Also at Hell In A Cell 2017 PPV, “The Modern Day Maharaja” Jinder Mahal made yet another successful Title defense when he defeated Shinsuke Nakamura. In a post-match backstage interview, Jinder noted that his feud with Nakamura is now over and he’s waiting to see who his next challenger is going to be.

Well, it’s looks like “The Phenomenal One” will have a chance to become a two time WWE Champion next. Yes, Styles is currently planned to challenge Jinder Mahal next for the WWE Championship.

That’s the reason behind Jinder not appearing on this week’s SmackDown Live (instead he defended the WWE Title in the SmackDown Live dark main event after 205 Live went off the air), as WWE officials waited for Styles to finish his feud with Corbin on this week’s episode.

Unless plans change, the Mahal-Styles feud for the WWE Title is expected to kick off next week. It should be noted that Mahal faced Styles on the final episode of SmackDown Live before Backlash 2017 (the PPV at which Jinder won the WWE Championship) and went on to defeat him.
