14-Time WWE World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton is currently out of action with a back injury.
He hasn’t wrestled since May 2022 and was written off WWE programming after a vicious storyline assault led by Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns along with The Bloodline.
The Viper underwent a lower back fusion surgery, which resulted in the original plan for the SummerSlam 2022 main event being canceled – Roman Reigns (c) vs. Randy Orton for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.
As we reported before, Orton has been training at the WWE Performance Center for a while now.
Fightful Select then reported that WWE sources continue to insist that Orton isn’t close to making an in-ring return, that’s why his arrival at the Performance Center wasn’t hidden. When a wrestler is scheduled to make a surprise return, WWE usually hides their public appearances until they return on TV.
In an update on this situation, Xero News is reporting that WWE Officials have started coming up with creative plans for Orton’s return to TV. A date for his return is still not locked, but it is currently being discussed.
Orton was recently spotted at a high school volleyball game. After some students noticed that he was there, they decided to do a little wrestling sequence, where an RKO was performed and then the pinfall.
Randy was impressed after watching it go down. You can watch it below:
