Randy Orton was scheduled to face Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 41, but the match got canceled due to Owens’ neck injury, which will require surgery.
Nick Aldis told Orton on last week’s SmackDown that The Viper doesn’t have a match at WrestleMania anymore, which led to Orton hitting Aldis with an RKO.
The good news for Orton is that he won’t have the same fate as Bobby Lashley at WrestleMania 39 in 2023 (when Bray Wyatt couldn’t compete in his scheduled match against Lashley).
According to WrestleVotes, WWE is working on a new opponent for Orton at WrestleMania 41. We’ll get to know more about that on tonight’s SmackDown.
They also reported that WrestleMania 41 will feature a total of 14 matches on both nights. WWE has already announced 12 of those. The final 2 matches on the card will be Randy Orton’s match and The War Raiders defending the World Tag Team Championship against The New Day.
As we noted before, the plan for The Street Profits right now is for them to defend their WWE Tag Team Titles on the SmackDown before WrestleMania 41, most likely against Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin), who became the #1 contenders on last week’s SmackDown after they defeated #DIY (Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano).
