All Elite Wrestling fired CM Punk earlier today after an investigation was carried out into the fight between Punk and “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry backstage at AEW All In last Sunday.
AEW President Tony Khan opened tonight’s episode of Collision in Chicago by addressing his decision to fire Punk.
He said that Punk endangered the lives of innocent people backstage, which is why he had to terminate his contract. He also stated that he felt endangered at a pro wrestling show for the first time ever because of Punk.
The release of Punk from AEW has been a hot topic in the pro wrestling world today.
Fightful Select reported that it was also a widely discussed topic among WWE talents backstage at the Payback premium live event tonight.
Grayson Waller is one of the talents who thinks he can relate to wrestlers Punk got physical with.
Waller got Superkicked by the returning Jey Uso on the Grayson Waller Effect at Payback (tap here for complete results).
He later shared a picture of himself holding a Pepsi can backstage and called for WWE to fire Jey because he attacked him unprovoked.
“Jey Uso attacking me unprovoked on my own show- fire this man!”

This was a shot at Punk because the former AEW World Champion initiated most of the fights he was involved in over the past year, which finally led to him being fired.
