Gunther (fka WALTER) credits his WWE success to Paul “Triple H” Levesque, acknowledging Triple H’s unwavering support throughout his career.
In an interview with The Metro, Gunther said,
“He always supported me and saw something in me… I don’t know if I would be here without ever being more or less connected with Triple H in that sense.”
From his early days as WALTER in NXT UK to his current role as a top star on WWE Raw, Gunther’s journey has been shaped by Triple H’s belief in him.
He is now preparing for a major World Heavyweight Championship defense against Sami Zayn, following their WrestleMania 40 clash where Zayn ended Gunther’s historic Intercontinental Championship reign.
Gunther also mentioned his brief experience working under Vince McMahon, stating,
“The creative ideas from his side, obviously, were never my kind of thing.
But that’s subjective. It’s a taste thing… I had half a conversation with him.”
With Triple H by his side, Gunther continues to rise in WWE, with his next title defense set to further solidify his legacy.
