• Gunther Crosses Big Milestone As Intercontinental Champion

Gunther defeated Ricochet on the June 10th 2022 episode of SmackDown to win the Intercontinental Championship.

With his reign being at 281 days & counting, he has surpassed “Mr. Perfect” Curt Hennig’s 280-day reign as the WWF Intercontinental Champion.

Gunther’s IC Title reign is now the longest reign since Honky Tonk Man’s legendary reign.

Below is the list of the longest Intercontinental Champions of all time:

1. Honky Tonk Man (454 days – 1987 to 1988)

2. Randy Savage (414 days – 1986 to 1987)

3. Greg Valentine (285 days – 1984 to 1985)

4. Gunther (281 days – 2022 to present)

5. Mr. Perfect (280 days – 1990 to 1991)
