• Health Update On El Hijo del Vikingo After WWE Worlds Collide

AAA Mega Champion El Hijo Del Vikingo is doing fine following his match against Chad Gable at WWE Worlds Collide, according to PWInsider. There were some worries after the main event, as Vikingo appeared to be favoring his leg. However, the report confirmed that no injuries were sustained during the match. Vikingo also showed up at the Money In The Bank PLE later the same day, which further eased concerns. It’s believed he was simply selling the effects of the match.

The Worlds Collide event was the first major crossover between WWE and AAA since WWE acquired the Mexican promotion in April. The show was headlined by Vikingo vs. Gable and featured several top stars from both companies.

• Backstage News On Who Knew About R-Truth’s Return

According to Fightful Select, most WWE staff and talent had no idea about R-Truth’s return until right before the match. Only a small group of people were aware ahead of time, and the whole thing was kept tightly under wraps for obvious reasons. R-Truth revealed on Twitter that his WWE exit wasn’t a work, and further wrote:

“#WeWantTruth was seen, heard, felt and understood… Believe me when I say this, I Love EVERYONE of yall to death. We made history together.”

Bodyslam reported the following about Truth’s new deal: “The new deal came together sometime on Friday. This new deal isn’t a normal active working talent deal but it gives him the opportunity for one true final run.”

Fightful Select previously reported that WWE President Nick Khan directly contacted Truth to finalize a new contract. R-Truth has noted in past interviews that he wants to retire as a serious character and not a comedy character.

• WWE Impressed With AAA Star, Major Name Backstage At Worlds Collide

The Undertaker was present backstage at the WWE Worlds Collide event in Los Angeles, according to PWInsider. The show, held at the Kia Forum, marked the first major crossover event between WWE and AAA, and drew a crowd of over 10,000 fans.

Sources told PWInsider that the Roldan family, the former owners of AAA, were pleased with how the company’s wrestlers were showcased. The event was also well-received within WWE, with internal praise going to Corey Graves for his performance as lead announcer.

Merchandise for AAA star Mr. Iguana was discussed backstage, with WWE reportedly considering developing official products for him as they were very impressed by his character. WWE is said to be happy with how the AAA roster was introduced to their audience.

In preparation for the show, talent from both companies rehearsed at the WWE Performance Center earlier in the week.

The merchandise available at the event included shirts featuring Rey Mysterio, the LWO, Psycho Clown, Stephanie Vaquer, as well as special items for matches like Chad Gable vs. Vikingo. A limited “I Was There” commemorative tee was also available for fans at the venue.
